Why the Indian academic fraternity is scared of exceptionally brilliant Professors who tend to have great fan following of students?

It is always seen that in every institution/ university in India will have 90% traditional and unexciting Teachers and Professors who make academics most unexciting and discouraging part of student lives while 10% exceptionally brilliant Teachers and Professors create a spark among the students by generating excitement for whom students get self-motivated to attend their classes and take interest in studies. However, the others do not learn anything from this phenomena and launch attack against the brilliant faculty members by poisoning the ears of 'management' against them with all types of stupid cock and bull stories and in most cases finally these outstanding teachers are forced to leave the institution with disappointment. Since the below average lot of faculty tend to stick to the same institution from day one till their last day, the 'management' consider them to be 'loyal' and trust them more than the Principal, Dean, Director or VC !

Unfortunately, the 'management' do not listen to the students in such matters and I often see such outstanding faculty members lose interest and many of them get demotivated.

When the academic fraternity will learn a lesson and will learn to admire and value excellence over so called 'loyalty' of incompetent lot and will raise the bar of Indian education. I must say that none of the Indian institutions are out of this tragic epic including IITs and IIMs which had already lost best of their faculty members who are teaching in various institutions across the world.

When can the academic fraternity will give 90% importance on application oriented and hands on teaching-learning to make students employable ?

The importance of PhD is unnecessarily high with hidden agenda and motives. These are just to hide the lack of competencies and skills in a large number of so called 'professors' and 'experts' behind the papers.

Anybody can produce useless papers in the name of 'research' which are just compilations of other's work and very little or nothing of their own but a few can become successful teachers as needs skills. An able teacher should not only be able to transfer the knowledge but most importantly should be able to teach their applications to the students. many have knowledge (both students and teachers) but only very few know how to apply them effectively and efficiently.

Who is an 'expert professor' ?

Who is an 'expert professor' ? Is it someone who has degrees and many years of work experience and loads of research paper or who is followed, respected for producing successful students?

The world may have over a million of Professors but whom do you call the 'expert professor' ? Is it someone who has several degrees, many years of teaching experience and had written loads of research papers or those who makes differences to the student's attitude, career and lives with their magical touch? Are those 'expert professors' who fail to generate interest among the students and in their classes students listen to iPod or get engaged in cyber chat with friends or those where students from other classes or even other institutions sit to hear and learn ? Who is 'expert professor' who deliver curriculum in the name of 'knowledge' and 'teaching' like the Pizza Hut delivery boy or those who make students excited about their classes and ignite spark to give attention towards academics and help them to do well in their lives ? Most professors 'taught' us we do forget them and also what they 'taught' ... can they be called 'expert professor' ? I call them 'expert professors' whom I still remember after 30-35 years and still recall what they taught. What about you?
